Health and Wellness Coordinator - Women's Residential

If so, HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking to fill a Health and Wellness Coordinator position opening at our North County Serenity House (NCSH) program in Escondido, CA!  The ideal candidate is AOD registered or certified, is action oriented, and has at least one year of relevant experience.  In this position you will learn how to effectively monitor and store medications for clients, develop clinic skills, and receive training on electronic health records systems.  Sound interesting?  Below you will find a more detailed description of some of the duties and requirements for this position. 

NCSH operates a residential facility that serves up to 120 women (with capacity for up to 20 children under 5 years of age) seeking recovery from substance use disorders. We offer gender responsive, trauma informed, person-centered services and evidence based interventions. For clients with co-occurring mental illness, we provide integrated substance use and mental health services which treat both conditions as primary. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for management of client medications, including psychotropic medications and controlled substances, including documentation, secure storage, counting and destruction according to policy.  
  • Acts as liaison with staff; monitors and communicates client compliance with regard to medications.  
  • Maintains all medical documentation, including Centrally Stored Medication and Destruction forms, Medication Self-Administration forms, Controlled Substance Logs, Shift-to-Shift Count forms, Discharge Medication forms and various standard letters to physicians and agencies.  
  • Answers telephone and maintains office. Responsible for signing off medications, counting controlled medications, reading medical log for up-dates, and recording all changes. 
  • Collects, organizes and reports results of monthly urinalyses.  Maintains stock of OTC medications and First Aid supplies.  
  • Responsible for daily mail pick up and distribution.  
  • Responsible for checking in visitors and monitoring visits.  
  • Handle crisis interventions and assess situations for further needs.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma
  • AOD registered or certified
  • One year of relevant experience 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field  
  • Medical Course work in related subjects, (i.e., co-occurring disorders, Motivational Interviewing, HIV, HCV, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, harm reduction, etc.)
  • Must not be on active parole or probation  
  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
  • Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility and reliability are imperative
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Action oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills
