In this position you will work in a collaborative environment, provide training to HFSS staff regarding identification of mental health symptoms, and assist clients transition from public assistance to employment. Working out stationed in Duarte in collaboration with Homeless Family Solution Systems (HFSS), the senior clinician is responsible  for providing assessment and referrals to homeless CalWORKs clients who are participating in services through the Homeless Family Solutions System (HFSS).  The Senior Clinician  is responsible for  conducting mental health screenings on eligible CalWORKs Welfare to Work participants identified as needing mental health services; and assisting in crisis and symptom management within assigned programs as needed.     


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct mental health screenings on eligible CalWORKs Welfare to Work participants identified as needing mental health services 
  • Assist in crisis and symptom management within assigned programs.
  • Provide case management support for CalWORKS Welfare to Work participants identified with mental health barriers by assisting with housing, benefits, employment, education, and transportation while caring for their children. 
  • Assess and identify other mental health barriers to employment. 
  • Link participants to CalWORKs-funded mental health treatment providers within their respective Service Area. Assist homeless CalWORKs families to engage in treatment.
  • Provide training to HFSS staff regarding identification of mental health symptoms. 
  • Provide consultation to HFSS team on participants receiving services across departments.Work as part of treatment team in collaboration with HFSS team members.
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with agency, HIPAA, and DMH standards.
  • Ensure timely submission of funder required reports.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Licensed LMFT, LCSW or Ph.D./Psy/D. from regionally accredited graduate program. 
  • Two years minimum clinical experience delivering direct mental health services. 
  • Must possess a basic understanding of all ages of development (birth-59 years old), child abuse, substance abuse issues,  impact of trauma, and self-sufficiency issues.
  • Prefer experience in using evidenced-based practices and trauma-informed care.
  • Prefer experience with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Documentation.
  • Must be open to a flexible work schedule that may include evenings and/or weekends.
  • Must be able to pass bacground/criminal check.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable. 
  • Valid California Driver's License, proof of insurance.
Compensation: $60,000.00
