If so, HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking to fill a Substance Abuse Counselor position opening at our Outpatient program in Pomona, CA. In this position you will gain experience working in collaboration with a team of professionals whose desire is to create change in people’s lives. The ideal candidate has experience working with people with a history of substance use disorders. Does this sound like you? Prototypes set the standard for comprehensive, integrated, evidence-based services. Our team of top professionals and dedicated staff provide residential and outpatient addiction treatment, detoxification, mental health services, prevention and education, vocational training and parenting support for men, women and children. We offer gender responsive, trauma informed, person-centered services and evidence based interventions. For clients with co-occurring mental illness, we provide integrated substance use and mental health services which treat both conditions as primary.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the treatment team in collaboration with the prescribing provides, therapist, case mangers and other team members. Assist in crisis and symptom management within assigned program(s).
  • Participates in program planning and enhancement.
  • Participates in team meetings to provide information and make recommendations for treatment, discharge planning,and client management. 
  • Assists client in developing appropriate treatment goals and makes revisions when necessary.
  • Maintains client records in a timely and appropriate manner and in accordance with County and Federal guidelines.
  • Ensure that all documentation is completed withing assigned deadlines. 
  • Documents client's progress and reviews treatment plans routinely. 
  • Continues professional development through participation in continuing education, in-service training and professional workshops to maintain current knowledge and broaden expertise.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned. 

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. (Education) 
  • At least 6 months of experience working in the substance abuse treatment field. 
  • Experience in culturally diverse substance abuse populations with co-occurring mental health diagnosis desired.
  • Excellent writing and computer skills.
  • Experience with motivational interviewing.
  • Ability to understand, and interpret information, and can mange a consistent workflow. 
  • Must be open to a flexible work schedule including evening and/or weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with people in a constructive manner within a community-based treatment setting. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong boundaries
  • CPR and First Aid Certification required within first 90 days of employment. 
  • Valid Drives' license, registration and insurance required 
  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
