Weekend Overnight Counselor - Women's Residential

Are you a dependable team player?  Are you motivated and have great attention to detail?  Are you a night owl looking for an overnight position?  Do you want to work for an organization that is making a difference in counties across California?  If so, HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking to fill a Weekend Overnight Counselor position with our Women's Residential Program in Oxnard, CA!  The ideal candidate can demonstrate cultural sensitivity and strong personal boundaries.  Additionally, the ideal candidate has a willingness to work weekends and the ability to respect and handle confidential issues appropriately.  In this position you will gain experience working in a residential treatment facility and make a difference in the lives of women and their children.  You will also be able to earn clinical hours for State Certification as an Addictions Counselor!  Sound interesting?  Below you will find a more detailed description of some of the duties and requirements for this position.  

Prototypes Women's Center in Oxnard is a residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation center where the client's success is the primary goal. We maintain a client centered supportive environment that at times can be fast paced and ever changing. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of client charts, supervision of clients, evaluating immediate client need (residential and detox),
  • Responding to client needs and directing them to services.  
  • Ability to work Thursday nights through Monday mornings. 
  • Filing, logging group sign-in sheets, logging client passes, setting up client charts, breaking down client charts, and calculation of service hours. 
  • Chart audits
  • Administrative projects as requested
  • Stocking of client forms
  • Provide nightly accounting of work completion
  • Ensure that staff common areas are cleaned nightly as needed.
  • Initiate and supervise client drug testing (UA's).
  • Supervise medication disbursement.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma/GED 
  • Minimum of one year experience working with substance abusing and/or mentally ill population. 
  • Ability to provide proof of current registration from one of the addiction counselor certification boards in California.
  • Willingness to work and learn in a community-based setting emphasizing integration of alcohol, drug, and mental health treatment concepts.  
  • Dependable automobile and insurance, registration and valid California Drivers License.
  • Knowledge and respect of all confidentiality issues.
  • People oriented.
  • Professional and honest.
